Creamy Cajun goodness is what happens in this dish. Chicken Lazone is basically Cajun Chicken Pasta with less parmesan. This recipe is simple and easy to make and it came together pretty quick. The recipe did not call for parmesan at all!!! I, of course, had to add some to give it more zip. Either way, it is tasty.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb chicken, breasts cut into pieces or use tenders
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1-2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 8 oz pasta, cut of choice, I used spaghetti
  • 3/4 tsp sea salt
  • 2 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 3 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • chopped parsley, optional
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan, optional
Instructions
  • Mix together salt, Cajun seasoning, 2 tsp paprika, onion powder, garlic powder and flour. Place in a Ziploc bag or large bowl. Put chicken pieces in and shake around until chicken is well coated. Reserve any leftover flour mix.
  • In a large skillet on medium heat place olive oil. Add chicken and cook approximately 3-4 minutes for each side or until cooked through. Remove chicken from the pan.
  • Add butter to the skillet and melt.
  • Add reserved flour mixture. Whisk until smooth.
  • Add heavy cream and paprika. Whisk until smooth. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  • Cook pasta according to package directions while making the cream sauce.
  • Place drained cooked pasta to the cream sauce. Add chicken to the cream sauce as well. Toss to coat.
  • Serve immediately.
  • Add grated parmesan and chopped parsley to garnish if using.
  • Enjoy!
