Warm salty dates are a nice appetizer if you like a chewy caramelly salty snack. Dates always look fancy so think of adding these to your next appetizer or charcuterie tray. Simple and easy to make they are done in a jiffy.
Ingredients
- dates
- olive oil
- sea salt
- lemon zest or juice
Directions

Place your dates, pitted or not, into a skillet with about 2 tablespoons olive oil. Heat on medium heat, stirring often. Be careful not to burn the dates, which can happen quiet quickly. The idea here is to simply heat them up a bit and slightly sear the outside. Remove from the pan and plate them up. Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top and a pinch of lemon zest. You can also use dehydrated lemon zest. I didn’t have any zest at the time so I just splashed a very scant bit of lemon juice on them. Serve while warm. If you used dates with the pit please be cautious when eating them. ENJOY!
