Do you remember those cute little bird nest candies you used to buy at the store around Easter time? My husband does and since we couldn’t find them already made to buy he asked me to make them. This is a cute project to do with kids to celebrate Spring. I recommend using natural food safe dyes if you can find them since artificial dyes are not good for our bodies and organic jelly beans. However, these are super easy and fun to do and really really cute. <3

Ingredients
  • 1 1/3 cups sweetened coconut flakes
  • 1/2 tsp milk
  • 3 drop green food coloring
  • 6 ounces white chocolate or candy coating
  • jelly beans or colored candies of choice
Instructions
  • Mix milk and food coloring together.
  • Drizzle over coconut in medium bowl. Mix until coconut is green.
  • Melt chocolate in microwave or on double boiler. If using microwave heat in 15 second intervals until melted.
  • Stir chocolate into the coconut and mix together.
  • On wax paper place about 1 tbsp of mixture and form nests using your fingers to make indentions for the jelly beans.
  • Place jelly beans inside while mixture is still damp to help them stick to the nest.
  • Let dry.
  • Enjoy! Happy Spring!
