Pistachio Paste is simply the “butter” of pistachios. Like peanut butter, almond butter, etc, it is super easy to make and delicious. Pistachio Paste is great for using in desserts, especially if you love pistachios as much as I do.
How to make pistachio paste.
- Take approximately 4 ounces of shelled pistachios (salted or unsalted depending on your preference). Make sure all the tiny skins are rubbed off.
- Place the pistachios in a small blender.
- Blend for 2 minutes then scrape down the sides.
- Repeat this process until it turns into a paste. This could take several blends. Even after it becomes just thick keep blending until is becomes a paste.
- Process until your desired consistency for what you want to use it for. (I kept mine kindof thick for use in Pistachio Tiramisu.)
- Keep any leftover paste stored in the fridge in an air tight container.
- Use this in cakes, cookies, muffins, as a topping on ice cream or other desserts. Really your imagination is the limit.
- Enjoy!
